Claiming Your Squarespace Website for Pinterest

Besides connecting and pushing content between your website and your Pinterest account, you can claim your website.

Claiming your website will grant access to analytics for the Pins you publish from your site, the analytics on Pins that other people create from your site and let people know where they can find more of your content.

Before starting you will need a:

  • Squarespace website (Business or Commerce Level) and

  • Pinterest account.

The entire process takes about 5 minutes.

Log into your Pinterest account and click on the downward arrow in the upper right corner. Click on Settings > Claimed Accounts.

For Websites, click Claim.

There are three ways to claim a website. I used the “Add HTML Tag” method. Click anywhere inside the box with the code in it (this copies the code to your clipboard). Keep this tab open.

Log into the Squarespace website that you want to connect and go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection.

In the HEADER section, paste the code that you copied (Ctrl + V or Cmd + V). Save your changes.

Go back to your Pinterest account and if you still have the pop up window with the three methods up, you can click Continue. If not, just go back to Claimed Accounts.

Enter your website’s URL when prompted and click Verify (as shown above).
